What a great weekend it was! On Friday, my little boy, Noah preformed in his Cinco de Mayo school program. I'm trying to cherish every moment with him for pretty soon he'll become a teenager. He still believes in Santa and tooth fairy, but I'm sure next year will be a different story.
I ran the Rhar Cinco de Mayo 5K and it wasn't a timed course, but just for fun. It was at a Fort Worth local Brewery and was a beer run. If you know me, you wonder why are you running that if you don't like beer? Well, I paid $18 for a nice glass of beer (which I gave to my hubby) and you get hot breakfast street tacos at the end! Besides, it was something new to try out in a different location.
I ran 6 miles before the run by my house and my body was already warmed up when I showed up. Since it wasn't timed, they just told us the direction to go because it wasn't police patrolled. So, I decided to stay with the male wolf pack leaders to challenge myself and to make sure I run the correct course and not go the wrong way..LOL! I was able to stay with them and finished in 6th place and first female overall. Eddie just looked at me and said, you ran it to compete? I said, I didn't plan on it, but thought what the heck, just run it! It didn't seem like I was running that fast anyway. It felt good to see that even though I haven't been running as much now that I"m not training for anything, I can still run a fast 5K. This may be one I do every year!
