I know it's been a while since I posted. I'm kinda in a funk right now. Not sure what to do now that my marathon training and season is over for now. It took me a little bit to recover from my last marathon for I've never trained and ran that much before EVER! My right knee was a little tender after the D.C. Marathon, but and haven't been running as much since then. My knees and body have fully recovered, but I have gained a couple of pounds since then. I still have the same appetite as if I were training and that crap has got to stop. I plan on running 20 miles each week at least to maintain my endurance and not have to start from scratch next fall when I start training again. The question now is what marathon do I want to run next? I really want to run Florida for that will be my last major city in the USA to run. I just don't know which marathon to run. I know that they have several. I have been trying out different classes at the gym like Booty Bare which is a total core and leg/booty workout and love it. I have also started back up with my Body Pump classes and hope to do that at least 2x a week. I want to build more muscle for now to get ready for summer.
I went to my yearly check up with my doctor and it turns out I have Hypothyroidism. Doctor states that a lot of female athletes get this. It's due to working out a lot and gets my hormones out of whack! So, I guess I have to run marathon for the rest of my life to keep from getting FAT! LOL! Oh well, that's my plan anyway. I'm taking the lowest dose for it's not that bad, it just sucks that I have to take a pill every day for the rest of my life in order to control it. I'm not going to let it get the best of me. For now, I'll keep on running :)
