Rain, Rain, Go Away!

On Oct. 27th I ran 20 miles again as part of my marathon training.  This time the weather was cooler, dressed better and wore my new running shoes.  I finally replaced the shoes I trained for when I ran San Francisco Marathon this past June.  I decided to run same route as last time I ran 20 miles to see if I would do better. The weather was cooler than last time, but it was cloudy, misty and prayed it wouldn't rain on me.  I ran on the pavement the whole time because it had rained all night and it was too muddy and wet to run on the gravel trail this time.  Once I reached half way and turned around, it started to sprinkle and I picked up my pace worried it would pour down on me. So glad it didn't, but was real misty for a couple of miles then it stopped. It actually felt good to me and I didn't feel hot or even sweaty. I finished in 2:41:57 at 8:05 pace!  I finished strong and didn't get any blisters so the shoes worked out great. I was a little worried because I bought 1/2 a size bigger than last pair I owned.  I did this to see if I can get rid of black toe nails.  I've lost one two nail and have two black toe nails since I started running marathons. So, we'll see if this makes a difference.  The guy at the store told me that's just part of being a marathon runner.  Oh we'll, not giving up my running!
