Yesterday, I ran the Fort Worth Marathon. It's hard to believe that this is my third marathon in less than a year. I have come a long way since I started running again two years ago. This marathon was in my hometown of Funky town Fort Worth. The course itself was what I've trained all my long distance runs on, so I felt pretty confident I would PR because it's a flat course. However, I missed it by 11 secs. from my San Francisco time. And it's all because of my right hamstring cramping up on me halfway through the race! I ran like a cheetah the first half and might of pushed too hard. I had no choice but to slow it down in order to finish. In the end, I finished 1st in my age group, placed 4th in female overall and came in 35th place overall marathon runners out of 282 runners. I'm officially in the "Masters" category and got a bigger plaque cause of it. I guess it's good to be old :) Although, I didn't PR, I did qualify for Boston in 2015...WOOT!! So, I'll take that and super happy with my results!
