Half Marathon Run & Yoga
I ran a half marathon on my own today as part of my training schedule. I decided to run to include some hill work today. I started super slow and was able to pick up speed my second half. I ran a negative split and was able to maintain my marathon pace even with the hill work. I didn't run Friday or Saturday and I think that also helped me run good today. I later went to yoga class and felt good to stretch out really good. I need to do this more because it will prevent injuries Last year, I was always in a rush during my weekly morning runs with taking my boys to school and coming home to get ready for work that I never really had time to stretch afterwards. This year we bought our two teenage boys a truck to share and go to school and it will be nice to not have to get up at the crack of dawn to go run during the week. Since my work hours are 10-6 p.m. I will get to sleep in a little longer. Sleep is so important when you train for marathons and I always make a point to get to bed early. Tomorrow is Labor Day and yes, I do plan on sleeping in!!
