Austin Half Marathon Begins

Thanksgiving is over!  There is so much to be thankful for and besides my family being my number one priority.  I thank the Lord everyday for giving me good health to enjoy my running.  I enjoyed running the Thanksgiving Grub Run with co-workers and my baby boy Noah.  He thought it was pretty cool to run the Texas Motor Speedway track and see the fast cars parked inside the garage.  It was a great week of working out, catching up with friends, spending time with my family and of course shopping is always fun.  I started my training for Austin half marathon this week and we had great weather to run outside while I was off work this week.  It's so weird not running a lot of miles on Saturdays, but got to stay focused on my goal.  My goal this time is to work on strength and speed work.  I do plan on doing more hill runs for this marathon looks really hilly, but need to not go crazy fast on them or end up getting hurt like I did last year when I was training for Cowtown marathon, which I had to drop due to over use injury.  I really want to be injury free this year when I run Boston in April and really push myself to see how I do on this challenging tough course!
