NYC One Week Away!

New York Marathon is one week from today!  So, far I'm injury free and thank God everyday for that.  I get so nervous about my right hamstring going into this marathon, since I know that it started wanting to cramp up towards the end of the Chicago Marathon.  So, I scheduled another session with Jessamine, my new massage lady who worked on really stretching me out this past week. She also gave me some pointers as to what to work on at home to stretch that hamstring out.  The problem with that right leg is that it's longer than my left leg, so it happens to work harder.  It's so weird to be uneven.  I have to put a 5mm insert in my left shoe to balance out.  Again, that is something I have no control over and must do whatever it takes to keep on running.

I had a good week of training, but wasn't able to run my last long distance run on Saturday due to it raining all day.  So, I decided to run my 12 miles today, Sunday, after teaching my cycle class this morning.  I just took it easy in class and ran as to how my legs felt.  The weather was in the 60s and felt great.  I wore my long sleeve shirt and leggings.  Finally, great running weather!  I ran an easy run to include hill work to finish my last two digit run.  I had an 8:14 pace and I'm good with that.
