"Purple started as the most outgoing lead dog female and eventually became most nurturing out of the girls. She demonstrates a more group-lead dog type drive. Always in a group of her own but leading the way. Very gorgeous face, dark rust coat. Smallest female but leaner, tighter athletic look."
She sounds just like me...LOL! I'm so giddy and feel like I'm getting a baby! I'm taking off work Friday to drive 10 hours to Alabama to get her. There were no females available in Texas so that was closest state that had one. I'm getting the all my questions answered to make sure I feed her the right food, take her a toy and blanket to rub her mother's scent on it before she leaves her mom. I want to make sure she is comfortable on the long drive home. I just hope that our Jack Russell terrier will be okay with her. That was another reason why we went with a female vs. male. Rascal will still be the king of the house, but she will be our princess. I think the hardest part for me is that I have to wait at least 12-18 months before she can run with me. But I'll do whatever it takes to make sure she grows up healthy and happy.
I had a good 16 mile run on a new route I discovered on my own. I wanted to work on hills and ran part of the Luke Lockers route around the golf course and around the Fort Worth Zoo neighborhood. It was hilly and happy with my pace. Cowtown is 20 days away and it's time to watch everything I eat to get shredded and ready for race day.
