Fall Begins

Yesterday was the first day fall here in Texas.  It didn't feel like fall, it's still feels like summer!  I was excited about running this morning and got up early to try and beat the heat.  Today I ran my first double digit run of 10 miles!!  I haven't ran that since June 17th.  I remember that because it was Taylor and Lauren's wedding day and run to release stress...LOL!  That was a super busy day.

I was worried about my run because Eddie and I went to eat at one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants "Mi Cocina" for I got a $100 gift card from one of our school vendors.  It was Friday and had a crazy, busy, hectic work week that I really wanted to go for Happy Hour.  So, we did and needless to say, I had not one, but two Mambo Taxi drinks which is my favorite.  I never drink before my Saturday long runs, but thought to myself, "I'm not training for Vegas anymore, why not enjoy a little drink."  I also indulged in chips and queso!  I loved every bite and every sip of my margarita/swirl drink.  So yes, I woke up thinking I'm going to hurt on my run.  Well, I took care of my business before my run (like I always do), ate half a banana and filled my water bottle and took off.  I wanted to run FW Trinity Trails, but last week a female runner was assaulted by a naked guy riding a bike and he got away.  Police still haven't caught him yet.  I will avoid that trail for a while.  I ran at Bear Creek Park and ran slow.  My foot still feels sore and forces me to run slow.  I sometimes wonder if I'll ever run fast again.  At about mile 6 my stomach hurts and feel I have to go find a restroom pronto, but none around so I have to walk run that mile until I feel better again.  I finished, but it was not a fun run.  Lesson learned and next time I'll have my HH after my run..HA!  Honestly, I think I need to find a half marathon to replace the Las Vegas Nov. 12th marathon.  Once I register, I know I'll be able to discipline myself better.
