I decided to just let me body run it's own pace and left my watch at home on purpose. I wanted to not worry about pace or time. I decided to start running at mile 0 where everything started to hurt and the mental game began the last 4 miles of my ultra marathon. I just took me back to that and told myself, if you ran an ultra, you can definitely run 10 miles just take it nice and easy. My calf muscles were still sore, but once they warmed up it was better.
They still had all the motivational signs up on the trail and as I ran by them, it took me back to what my body was feeling as a ran by them during the race. Of course I was to push it a little faster this time around because I was listening to my music I had uploaded for the race that wasn't working during my actual race. I wondered if I would of done better if my music/Bluetooth was working. I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen again! I definitely need music to push me through when there is no crowd support. I finished and my Mapmyrun showed I finished at an 9:10 average pace for the 10 miles and I felt pretty good after. I came home to really get a good stretch and rolled out my legs. Not sure what to expect next weekend for I've never done two full marathons back to back like this. I just pray, I don't end up hurt and just plan on listening to my body.
