For selfish reasons, I'm so grateful that Eddie had shoulder surgery before this started and has been with us at home through all this. However, his recovery time will expire soon and not looking forward to the day he goes back to work for the fire department. I worry for his safety as a first responder and just pray he'll be safe.
As for me, I continue to run almost every day with Dash and Noah (when he wakes up early). Work is very busy and that is my stress reliever and a way to escape all the negative news I hear. I have signed up for some virtual races to keep me motivated. I try to stay positive and continue to protect my mother and family the best I can. Eddie came up with a great idea of growing a family garden at his mother's home in the country where she lives. Noah has been helping him plant, water and pull weeds once a week with Eddie. I have also taking my mom up there to see and and she really enjoys the peacefulness of it all. We can see lighting bugs at night and the stars are very clear at night up there. I have to admit, it's a really great way for some family time. We cooked our first fried squash from our garden this weekend and it was delicious!
Not sure if life will ever be the same again. We were finally able to see our granddaughter after many weeks because as new parents they worried about the safety of their new baby. Our boy, Mason, graduated from Texas A&M and he wasn't able to walk to get his diploma. We had to watch student in his major be congratulated via Zoom meeting. I felt so sad for him, but he had a great attitude about it and said he rather be safe than sorry. We couldn't even celebrate Mother's Day with the whole family and it just wasn't the same. I am blessed to have my mom healthy at the age of 70 and pray to share many more Mother Days with her.
The Coronavirus deaths continue to go up. We now have 1,467,065 cases (31,967 new cases as of yesterday) and 88,709 death (1,394 new deaths as of yesterday)!! And, they have started opening up business across the states little by little. L.A. Fitness gyms are not opening quite yet, but six 24 Hour gyms are here in North Texas. I'm a little nervous to go back to teach my cycle classes at L.A. Fitness, but also ready to have some normality again. Besides, I miss my peeps there and helping them work on their fitness! Since I don't cycle, I've been doing some DVD workouts I had stored up. Family evening walks are nice too. Working out makes me sleep like a baby a night :) and feel like I am in the best shape now than I was before Spring Break.
Love my boys! Family is my everything!!
Other things I do when not working is read and watch some Netflix with Eddie. I've been reading some PD books, plant flowers, cooking and eating as a family more. Catching up with friends is something else I've been doing. I feel like we are all in this together and people are more caring of each other. I'm not sure if we'll go anywhere for our anniversary because I'm too nervous to fly, but hopefully we can take a road trip somewhere with our boys.
Until next time, please take time to take care of you and be safe! Keep on running :)
