Countdown starts
It's hard to believe that on Saturday when I ran 12 miles I got a new PR. I did hill work again and finished in 1:35:04 a 7:55 pace per mile. NEVER had I run that fast for that distance. It just amazes me that I'm running this fast at my age and I never did this in high school. It just makes me want to challenge myself even more. That is why I have registered for the San Francisco Marathon in June. I've never been there and always wanted to go there. When my father moved to the states from Mexico, he actually lived in San Francisco a couple of years to save money for his wedding and to bring mom Texas. My father passed away several years ago, but I still have his photos of him at the beach and him posing with the Golden Gate Bridge behind him. I always said to myself growing up that I would go there one day. When I registered for this race, I had no idea that it landed on Father's Day until later. So, that run will be even more special to me. I'll be running for my father and seeing things he at one time lived himself.
