The first 12 miles a couple of weeks ago was terrible. I ate crappy fast food the night before and paid the price. I started feeling my right hamstring cramp up and literally almost crapped my pants. NEVER again, I don't care how tired I am from work, I won't eat fast food again. LESSON LEARNED!
Last weekend I ran 20 miles and felt pretty good. I was able to keep a good pace, but my last two miles I felt that same right hamstring want to cramp up after doing some hill work. I really worry about the hills in SF, but I think I may be starting too fast in the beginning. Time to tapper down.
Today, I ran 12 miles again and did the same route as the first 12 miler and felt awesome. When I started the hill work, some big dog out of nowhere passes right by me. It scared me, but then when I realized it wasn't going to attack me, it made my run pleasant. The dog would run up and down the hills with me as he would chase squirrels too. As I would go up a hard hill, he would look back at me as if he wanted to make sure I was okay. Somehow, he motivated me to try and catch up with him. We kept this up going up and down the hilly streets. After my hill run, he just disappeared. It was a fun run and I didn't even feel no hamstring pain this time. Thank you running buddy for a good run today!
