Last Long Distance Run Before Boston in 9 DAYS!
The doctor confirmed that I did suffer whip-lash from the car accident. She gave me prescription medication to take for inflammation and muscle relaxer. She suggested I take it for a week, so I did. I still kept my running training schedule and it actually help me get better. This week I ran 5,5,6 and 15 miles. I ran the 15 miles yesterday working on hills and flat course. I averaged 8:38 per mile and finished 2:09:22 according to my garmin watch. I was glad to finally use it on this run and it seems to be more accurate than my mapmyrun app. there is a difference in about 5 seconds. I will probably use both when I run Boston just to see which one is closer to the race time clock. It's hard to believe that in 8 days I will be running the most popular marathon in the world! I'm starting to get nervous because I'm in wave 3 and my start time isn't until 11:00 a.m. and I have never run a marathon that late EVER! I'm usually done by that time and ready to eat at that time. I'm so used to waking up early to drink my water, eat, and take a dump before I run. If I don't take care of business, it will be a bad run for me. There is nothing worse than running and then having stomach cramps because you have to go take a dump! When I ran my first marathon, I actually witnessed a lady running by me with crap running down her legs and it stunk bad as she ran by me and she didn't even stop running. I did everything in my power to not throw up and could smell it what seemed like a mile away. So, I plan on sticking to my routine and take some food with me to eat because if I don't, there is no way I will finish strong. I just pray, I'm not that lady on race day! I better get familiar with the course map to find out where the porta potties are...lol!! Well, whatever happens, I know one thing for sure, this marathon will be one I'll never forget!
