Trail Runs

I always plan to workout/run even when I go on vacation. Hiking and running the Rocky Mountains is what I did on this family vacation. I never knew how much I would enjoy trail runs in the mountains. Yes, I seem to get out of breath faster up here, but the view is amazing and so worth it! Eddie got altitude sickness after our first run and quit running after that. The trick, at least for me is to drink lots of water and carb load! I've been running everyday and ran the whole town of Red River, NM (not that big). I ran on the road cross-country, ran up and down this one mountain I found and ran some trail runs. I started off slow with 4 miles and worked my way up to 7 miles. I can't go fast even if I wanted to and forced to go slow because of high altitude.  But boy, talk about a great workout up here!
