One week from today, I will run the Austin Half Marathon. My Valentine gift to myself :) It's a hilly run from what I hear and have been working on hill runs, a lot. Yesterday, I decided to run around my alma mater,TCU and ran 14 miles. I started out flat and worked my way to hills and back down to a flat run to finish. My PR for half marathon is 1:42 and would like to PR in Austin. So, I wanted to test myself on this run and decided to run the 13.1 miles better than that and shooting for a 1:40 time. I didn't get that according to my Garmin, I finished the half marathon at 1:41:16, but my mapmyrun showed 1:40:29. I trust my Garmin more and was happy to get under 1:42. I just hope that I can pull that off next weekend on race day. I felt good after and didn't cramp or hurt. I did slow it down on mile 14. It was a windy day and warmer than I wanted, but that's the thing with races. You never know what weather you'll get that day. Looking forward to spending Valentine's weekend with my hubby and friends in Austin.
