It was a great Valentine's weekend with my man and friends. I was really surprised with my finish time because we didn't eat that healthy. Hey, I'm all about having a cheat day once a week, but that turned into 3 days of it. I was good and didn't drink alcohol because I knew I would pay for it on race day and that's a BIG NO, NO for me. However, I did indulge in desserts and had my usual pasta dish night before race. I also had two rest days without running on Friday and Saturday. I did do PiYo on Saturday for a good stretch. That must of helped me because I got a new PR and got over those hills!
I do believe working some hills runs before race helped me out and will continue to do that at least once a week in order to get ready for Boston. I do want to come back and run the full marathon in Austin in the near future. It's a fun town and they do have awesome food there including healthy stuff! My next race is Fort Worth half marathon in 2 weeks.
I hope to do better, but we'll see.
