Spring Break in Colorado

My hubby and I took our boys skiing for our family vacation this Spring Break. It's been 9 years ago since we took them skiing at Wolf Creek, CO.  My 7 year old, Noah wasn't even born yet.  We put him in Wolf Pup Ski School for 3 days and was a fearless little guy and looked like a pro skiing blue slopes with all of us. We are a pretty active family and this was the perfect vacation.

I am still training for Boston and had to adjust my running schedule a bit this week.  I really didn't worry about it, because I knew I would get a good workout skiing. I used skiing as my cross training; I did some PiYo and ran 4 miles one day. That high altitude kicked my booty, especially after skiing all day. However, I wanted to run in the Rocky Mountains at least one day. I've never seen my heart rate go that high and it took all I had to finish!

I also did 4 miles of cross-country for the first time with my friend Hilda and skied after that.

That cross-country skiing was no joke; it was a tough workout.  Below is my summary results:
My running shoes in the mountains..lol!

I still drank my morning smoothies and found a good link for some good recipes for runners.

Even though I was on vacation, I didn't cheat and I got my workout training in.  Thank you Colorado for the good times!
