Now that Boston is over with, I find myself sleeping in more. It's nice now that when I run, I don't have to worry about pace or time. I just run. I still want to maintain at least one long distance run once a week and plan on running 20 miles a week nice and easy. I won't start training for Chicago Marathon until end of July. So, now that summer is right around the corner, I'm more focused on strength training to build more muscle for swim suit wear is coming up and I want to buy a new bikini for our 10 year wedding anniversary trip this summer. I'm still teaching cycle class 3 times a week at L.A. Fitness and love it. I really think that has also helped me with my running. Eddie wants to go on the Paleo diet again to loose weight and get ready for our summer trip, so we are cooking more. I'll never go 100% Paleo but will continue to eat clean and will probably never buy frozen dinner for lunch anymore! Yes, it's so easy to eat junk because of time or convenience but my health is more important. Besides, I'm learning to cook from my hubby and it seems to bring us closer. He's still the number one cook in our family! I'll admit it and I do believe that was one of the reasons I married that man...LOL!
As our district team captain for Team Birdville for Race for the Cure, I scheduled 5ks once a month throughout the school year and that was fun. I will continue to do it again next year and hope to make it bigger next year. I ran the Fort Worth Race for the Cure the weekend after Boston and I somehow managed to place 2nd in my age group. My hamstrings were still sore too. Our last 5K for the school year is on Memorial Day. It's benefiting our veterans. We have a good group of us from work going and both Eddie and our baby boy Noah will run it too. It should be fun and look forward to it.
