Today we run in honor of our veterans. Giving that Eddie is a veteran and so many people we know, I wanted our last 5K for our Team Birdville to do for the school year. I know it may not be much giving back to our disabled vets because they sacrifice so much for our country, but it was a good feeling to have both Eddie and my little boy, Noah run this with me today. We ran as a family and we had little Noah pace us as we ran and walked at his own pace.
We had 13 team members run this with us today. It was a good turn out considering the weather. The weather did hold off from raining, in the 70's and cloudy. It has rained all week and there have been tornadoes and flooding not where we live, but close enough. Today, our family in Acuna, Mexico experienced a tornado killing 13 people. That never happens and I was able to communicate with them and all are okay. Because of all the rain, I wasn't able to get any long distance runs this weekend. It's been weird seeing it rain for so long and it looks like it will continue next week too. I was still able to teach my cycle classes and that made me feel better about getting my cardio in. I'm hoping for a long distance run next weekend. That is if it stops raining.
