Today I ran by my alma mater, Texas Christian University. We have some hard core fan that were up early getting ready to tailgate before game. It was cool seeing everyone wearing purple and it was already getting packed with people.
I decided to run around TCU to work on some hill work. I love running around there because the hills are hilly and you run in the shade. The temperature outside was around 75 when I started, but that darn sun always gets me on the way back. I did try a different route on Trinity Trails and tried to run in the shade more. I realize that I'm able to keep a better pace in the mornings when I run than my afternoon runs after work. I'm still trying to get used to that schedule. I can't wait for the cooler weather to come. Overall, happy with my summer pace runs.
Next week is the Plano Balloon Festival Half Marathon. I just hope it's not a hot run. I'm suppose to run 18 miles next weekend, but will probably just run the half then later that evening run the remainder miles after sun goes down. I may even run it slow with my pup, Dash :)
