On Top of the World

I had a good week in training. I was able to run 5,5,8 and 18 miles this past week. This was my first week to run all four days without KT tape. When I ran my long distance of 18 miles on Saturday, I again, had that fear of pain coming back. So, once again, I started out super slow and this time decided to do some hill work. I did some hill work during the week on shorter runs and had no issues, so decided to give it a shot. I need to work on hills because Boston has that monster of a hill called "Heartbreak Hill" at mile 20 and need to get ready for it. I decided to go back to the hills where I got hurt just to face my fears. To my surprise, not only did my foot not hurt, but my right hamstring also didn't hurt this time. I felt on top of the world again, to be able to run hills and not feel foot pain. I felt great and decided to pick up my pace the last 5 miles. I was able to improve my pace from last weekend by 6 minutes! I finished 18 miles in 2:26:17 at an 8:40 pace. I have one more long distance run of 20 miles and hard to believe that Boston is 4 weeks away!!
