Just Let Go and Run

This past Saturday I ran the Zoo Run with our ASPIRE Running Club. Noah also ran it and this is his 2nd 5K this year. He ran with Mrs. Elliot's 5 year old boy. We of course ran at their pace. Noah had a whistle on his wrist that he would blow every time he would get tired and had to walk. It was funny trying to motivate them to keep running. We kept saying keep going because the zoo animals are up ahead. He finished in 43:38 at a 14:10 pace per mile for 3.08 miles. I was so proud of my little kindergartner. So, since I took it easy on that run I decided to listen to my PT, Kelley and just let go on my scheduled half marathon Sunday and just run. I decided to go back and do part of the zoo run again and go up TCU to work on hills again. I started at 9:00 a.m. later than I wanted due to date night with my hubby and going to bed late. Yes, I'm a mom and a wife and need to make time for all my family and tweak my schedule from time to time. But it's all good. It was a great run. I ran 13.11 miles at 8:15 pace and finished in 1:48:15. That has been my fastest pace since my injury. I had no foot pain, but right hamstring felt a little tight but not bad. I expected that since I did a lot of hill work. Overall, it was a happy run 😀!
