I Screwed UP

Eddie and I decided to run a different trail for our 12 mile run this time.  We started late in the afternoon and that was a huge mistake for me.  We start together and then I take off at my faster pace like I always do.  The only problem this time was that it started to get dark on my way back.  It was spooky and it made me pick up my pace since I wasn't used to this trail.  I started to feel some pain on my left foot around my ankle around mile 7 and have never felt that pain before.  I kept running, picking up my pace for it was getting darker.  I was running under 8 min per mile pace the last time I was able to see my watch.  The pain was getting sharper and I was almost to my vehicle.  I got to mile 11 and wasn't able to finish that last mile due to the pain.  I had to listen to my body and stop running.  I was so frustrated because I knew I had screwed up by going fast.  I stretched out and waited on Eddie to finish in my car.  I told him I hurt my foot and of course first thing he said was I told you it was going to get dark and you should of just ran with me.  Now I just pray that I didn't screw up running NYC marathon in 2 weeks!!  I will call my physical therapist first thing in the morning to try and get in ASAP!  This sucks and it's the worst timing ever!
