Happy St. Patrick's Day

We've been on Spring Break this week and it has flown by!  We had a little scare with Eddie who drove himself to the hospital earlier this week while I was out running.  He called me as I was heading home from my morning run.  He had a sharp pain above his stomach.  They ran a CT scan and doctor said it was a stomach ulcer.  He can't eat nothing spicy, greasy, no salad dressing, butter, caffeine, coffee, alcohol, strawberries, orange or bananas.  He loves those fruits and that really stinks for him cause he has to eat a really plain diet on our Spring Break.  Once he started taking his meds he felt better and was able to do some things with us, but he was very weak the first part of the week.

On a lighter note, Noah and I made the best of our Spring Break.  On Monday, I was able to get away for a couple of hours for a 30 mile rode bike ride for my first time EVER with Hilda and Brittany who ride outdoors.  Johnny's Bike Shop didn't charge me for the bike rental so had to take advantage.  It was nerve wreaking and nothing like indoor cycling.  I was tense the whole time trying not to fall down and watching out for pedestrians.  Don't get me wrong, I did have fun once I got used to changing gears and away from people.  We rode all the way to Benbrook Lake from Johnny's Bike Shop and the lake scenery was nice.  I didn't fall on my face, but my shoulders where sore next day from riding all tense.  I was out of my comfort zone.  Hey, at least I can now say I tried it once..LOL.

I really concentrated on training Dash this week too.  I walked her everyday trying to get her used to leash walking and having her not choke by pulling me.  It will take time, but she got better by the end of the week.  She is still sleeping with us and not sure if we will break her from that.  She's so cute!  She outgrew Rascal and weighs 17 1/2 lbs as of today.  She is still going to puppy training school once a week and knows how to sit, come, stay, and working on let go and drop it.

Once Eddie got to feeling better we took Noah to River Legacy Science Living Center for a snake presentation, exploration hike and craft zone.  That is such a nice place to run too, but we had to take it easy with Eddie and didn't want to push him too hard.

Today is St. Patricks Day and Eddie said he was up to getting out again.  So we took Noah on a train ride (TRE) to Dallas and went to see the JFK 6th floor museum and saw where he was shot.   I have lived in the DFW area my whole life and this was the first time to visit this.  Noah loved seeing the tall buildings and said it was sad what happened to President Kennedy.

I was able to keep my training schedule and so far, I feel good and have no overuse injures.  I just pray it stays that way.  Boston is in 5 weeks!
