Time to Taper Down

Boston is two weeks away from tomorrow and I ran my 20 mile run yesterday.  I ran the first 5K with our Mighty Milers Running Club students who participated in the Fort Worth Zoo 5K.  It was crowded and very hard to run fast.  I had more parents, staff and volunteers this time to help students so, I decided to kept on running after crossing the finish line to complete my 20 mile run nonstop.  I continued running on Trinity Trails and ran towards Benbrook.  It was a cool morning in the 50s which was perfect weather for my 20 miler.  I was able to pick up my pace once I past the zoo run crowd.    I was a little worried because Dash had gotten a hold of my good running shoes and took out the insole of my left shoe so, I had to replace it with an old shoe.  I didn't have time to go buy my new shoes and ran in my old shoes.  Regardless, I had a good run and felt good the whole way.  I just pray I continue to stay injury free.  I bought my new shoes today and went with black/teal color this time.  Boston's colors this year is teal, black and pink so figured that was a good pick.  Now it's time to taper down.

I went to Yoga class today after teaching cycle for a good stretch.  That was exactly what I needed.  I will continue to do yoga at least twice a week for the next two weeks.  I'm still eating gluten free and using 21 day extreme eating plan.  Hopefully that will help me run better when I run Boston.
Dash has "Down Dog" pretty good😍 🐾..LOL!
